Natural stone, painted render, timber and older or damaged pointing can be vulnerable to aggressive washing. The appropriate method may involve reduced pressure, careful pre-treatment or an alternative system.
We will not describe high-pressure cleaning as suitable for every material. Where a surface appears unsuitable, this should be discussed before a quote is agreed.
Pressure washing is suitable for some hard surfaces but can damage others. These are the distinctions worth considering before requesting a quote.
Driveways, patios and paths can collect algae, silt and traffic dirt. Jointing material, cracks, sealant and porous stone all affect the method, and some marks are permanent.
Driveway cleaning →Decking boards can be damaged by pressure. Timber grain, previous coatings and manufacturer guidance take priority over a standard high-pressure treatment.
Decking cleaning →Painted render, brickwork and exterior cladding may require careful, low-pressure techniques or no washing at all if the finish is unsound.
Exterior cleaning →Area size is only one part of a useful quotation. The surface, level of contamination, drainage, access, nearby plants and fixtures, and any existing defects can all change the scope.
Ask what preparation is included, whether specialist products or post-cleaning jointing are proposed, and how delicate edges will be handled. For commercial sites, working hours, pedestrian management and runoff controls may also need to be discussed.
The individual service guides on this website explain common limitations and the information that helps produce a sensible proposal. They do not represent a guarantee that every material can be treated.
We will help identify the relevant service and the information needed for a sensible quotation.
